30th May 2005 Monday
It's not the end of May. But it seems like the end of the world to me already.

last night, I slept at 4am and woke up at 8am.

From 10 to 5:30, I was working in the camera store nonstop.

6pm I drove to UBC and took another 3 hours class.

9pm after a long day, I found out that someone damanged my car in UBC. They flatten two tires on the passenger side.

I spend 100 dollar and 3 hour to finally towed my car into a repaire shop. When I got home, it's 00:15 already.

And now, I got the price quote. Those tires couldn't be repaired and to change two tires, I need to spend 500 bucks. For another two,(which is suggested) I need to pay another 500 bucks.

My lunch was at 1pm. and now, thank god that Dongdong has half sub left over and I could enjoy my fucking dinner at 00:20am.

......

I am angry, hungry, tired ...........

And I absolutely, simply, purely and without any whatevers have to sleep now.

My eyes are closing, they are redhot, sore, tired, beat ..........

F-XXX!!

Oh, forgot to say. I took 99-B line going back home after I drop off my car. Half way to the skytrain station, the bus drive suddenly grabbed the mic and said "It's late now and I wish everyone in my bus could have a wonderful evening. Today is not a perfect monday, but tomorrow, everything will be better."

Man, what is it all about?

29th May 2005 Sunday
Driving 400KM today with Dongdong, we went to Joffre Mt. for a simple day trip. It took us 4 hrs to climb the mountain. As usual, the glacial lakes looked pretty and stunning. But I am too lazy to update anything. This is a sunset photo I took on the way back home.

I will organize these photos and try to upload them tomorrow.

I remember last time, I went to the mt. with mom and Trista. It was an pleasant trip. I miss the feeling. I miss mom and Trista!

28th May 2005 Saturday
Happy Birthday Dongdong!!!!

Sometime, when I think about our friendship, I feel sweet. 13 years is not a short time and I am really grateful to have a friend like you. Today is your birthday. I just wish you have a wonderful year!

Friendship never dies!!!!!!!!

27th May 2005 Friday
Trista took this photo for Tata. I like it alot. By her permission, I uploaded the photo to my website. I like Tata's pose. Sometime, muffin did the same pose. :P Are they connected? errr... Trista always thought Muffin and Tata are alike. Maybe they are connected. Like Trista and I. :) But it's so pitty that Tata is blind now. Damn the veterinary in China!!!!!

I found Tata's pose is so similar with one of the photo I took for muffin

They are lovely, aren't they?

26th May 2005 Thursday
I almost forgot the feeling of coding. And by working on this C chatting program today, I recall all the feeling that I had in the past four years.

It's always a wonderful thing to watch your program working smoothly.

25th May 2005 Wednesday
Playstation 3? heee, it rocks!

In North America, Canon only released its new digital SLR 20D, but in Japan market, it had this 20D-A. It's a special version of the EOS 20D except for the removal of the "hot mirror", the filter in most digital cameras which removes the InfraRed part of the spectrum.(700nm to 925nm is the region that is most accessible to conentional photography, where 1000nm to 1350nm requires special photography equipment)

This camera would be suited to astrophotography as well as infrared photography. The above picture has been taken by 20D-A. Amazing, uh? And of course, you can use it as a normal camera.

Maybe I should sell my 10D, and buy a 20DA. But it only sells in Japan. Sigh!!!

This is the infrared photo I took last year. I like the feeling.

21st May 2005 Saturday
I tested the Olympus Stylus 500, my most favorite point and shoot digital camera so far in the market. Taking this close up picture for a broken lens camera with a mini tripod was an easy job. I like this Olympus camera, the color tone is wonderful and the image is sharp. I will go get this one for sure in the future.

I croped the photo to check the detail. As you can see, the image is surper.

Dongdong and Joannes came over to have hot pot together. It's a lovable time to stay with good friends.

.............

All those years with Carol, my ex grilfriend, I thought I was happy. However, not untill I started my new relation with Trista, I wasn't realize the fact that I could be happier. And speaking of the fact, staying with Trista is even better than "happier".

Most of the time, I have passion toward the best. I put myself into the situation that I could chase the beauty. No matter in which area, I want to make it better. I push myself, trying and challenging new things. Therefore, few things in my life could really make me satisfied, but the relation with Trista is one of them.

As a man who loves his family and girlfriend deeply, I do whatever it takes to protect them. I will not allow anyone in any kind of situation trying to hurt them. Not in my life time!!!!!!

19th May 2005 Thursday
Lightning storm tonight. Since I lent my tripod to Eric, I had to hand-held my camera while I was shooting. The photo turns out a bit blurred. Pity that the lightning wasn't in the strip shape.

11pm, the sky was brightened by the lightning.

Trista always wants to take photo of the lightning strip. And I wish someday she could capture some cool moments of the lightning storm.

18th May 2005 Wednesday
"The measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out." I read this on some website today and felt it quite interesting. It's the 2nd day since Trista left Vancouver and I felt lonely to an extent. The sad feeling will last for a while and I know I will overcome it after all.

Uh ............. I miss my home in China........ Dad, Mom and Trista ...............

17th May 2005 Tuesday
Last Sunday, Trista and I went to downtown to have lunch with Eric. While we were eating, Robin Williams suddenly showed up on the street. Lucky that I took a photo while he waved his hand to us.

Photos here are all from my new Elan 7, film camera. I scaned the photo afterward. It looks good, right?

Trista left Vancouver today. She will stay with her family in China untill August. Well, 3 months without seeing each other is kind of tough. But I believe that we could be all right......... oh man, I've already missed her.

I took this photo last week with my Elan 7. Trista likes it very much. I know she must miss Muffin alot. But please cheer up. I will take good care of muffin. And we will be home waiting for you.

14th May 2005 Saturday
I bought myself a Canon EOS film camera today. Well, it's 2nd hand Elan 7. But I am happy to have it. I also bought some black & white Ilford films. Next week, I will go check the darkroom in UBC to see whether I can use it to develop my films. If so, I will have lot of fun for sure.

Maybe I am getting used of digital camera, every time I took a shoot, I would try to look at the back of the camera to find the LCD. But for my Elan 7, there is no LCD at back at all. So, suddenly, I need to think about every single frame other than keep shooting pictures and delete the bad one.

Film photography is a brand-new area to me and it makes me exciting. Let's see what can I really do with it.

11th May 2005 Wednesday
I sent my TL to the repair center today to replace the rear breaks and battery. During the waiting time, Trista and I decided to have a bus tour in downtown area. We took bus to the waterfront station, and then took the sea bus to North Vancouver.

In a sunny day like this, taking bus to fool around the city was fun. We played with our sony P7 on the bus, self taking some pictures. Somewhere in downtown, we saw these Canadian geese ....

After picking up my TL, we drove to Granville Island. As is becoming a tradition, we bought Latte from JJ Bean. It's as delicious as usual. To me, it's the best Latte in town.

There was a musician singing Jazz outside the market. We stopped to listen his song. He had this unsurpassed voice and we couldn't help ourselves buying his Jazz CD. During the break, I asked him to autograph on his cd with the word "To Max & Trista". Yup, imaging 40 years from now, when Trista and I are both old people, we accidentally found the cd out and see the autography. We will for sure smiling to each other and the memory we have had today will be recalled. Isn't it sweet?

10th May 2005 Tuesday
I confused!!! What kind of person I wanna be? What should I really do? If I keep doing what I think it's right, what could I end up with and what is my destiny?

What should I do with photography? Should I just leave it as one of my biggest hobby? Or should I push myself further to be more professional? What if I became a professional photograher, then what? Living on the pay cheque from my customer? Or getting a job from national geographic so I could live in the extreme?

What about the computer science which I've been studying, working, fighting for 4 years.

Trista will leave next week. First time ever, we couldn't meet untill the middle of August. Unlike the sun shine in the summer, the distance in between could easily makes me sad.

But what can we do? This is life and no matter what, we gotta face it.

The above photo is what I get on last weekend at a flower shop in downtown. I just love the sharp contrast.

9th May 2005 Monday
The work in Kerrisdale Cameras is actually fun. Everytime, I learned lot of stuff of photography. I am planning to buy a used Canon film camera. So I could try to shooting some black & white, slide or even infrared photos. I also want to practice processing films by myself. It will be really cool. :)

Tonight, Tirsta and I went out to have our dinner with James and ET. They bought me a wonderful birthday gift.

The place we went is called "Hapa Izakaya". A lovely Japanese restaurant in downtown. We ordered lot of food and they tasted really good.

The Ika (squid) is delicious.

We ordered the Yaki-Udon twice, since it tasted really good......

5th May 2005 Thursday
Organizing 700 photos is not an easy task. I am glad that I've finished updating the journal for this trip.

Click here to start the journey.

I also made a page for our special guest in this trip. Please check out here.

I selected near 20 photos which I think they could be the most suitable photos to represent our feeling. Click here to check out.
