Meow... Max didn't put me on his website for really long time. Can't always wait for him to do it. Damn Max. I decide to update it by myself.

Afterall,I am a Canadian evil fat cat and I used to "study" beside Max about Computer Science. HTM-Meow (HTML) is too easy for me.

But wait!!!! Is there anything wrong? Am I missing anything?

Oh yeah, FOOD ME Baby!!!! Curry-Point? or the Moon?

Now, let's recap how to write HTM-Meow.

But everything should start from a nap.

Construction! Construction everywhere. Too many new buildings, too high, too dark, too scary.

When you live in a city where you couldn't see the sky, you will be depressed.

I went back to my middle school where I had a wonderful memory about. Buildings looked different and I no longer could recongnize people there. However the feeling was still the same, the happiness in the playground, the sweetness in the dark walkway, the familiar smell together mixed with the warmness of being there......

Outside the school is a cross road bridge.

I used to wait her there after school. We were young and pure. At that time love was just a simple form of admiration.

After 40 mins skytrain followed by a 31 stops on a local bus, I was there at Mr.Zhang Peng's factory somewhere near the city. He is one of my close family friends and the owner of a middle size factory which specialized on producing cloth.

The purpose of this trip was simple that I want to learn or familiar with manufacturing process in China and Mr.Zhang is the perfect candidate to each me. He walked me around his company and told me every details, big and small. I had a great time with him and indeed learned tons of new stuff.

I will meet more friends and business owners later this week and next week.

If I decide to make my own company, I will take my time to learn and to plan. Rush decisions won't last long and will not do any good to me.

Cocktail drinks!!! I bought 90% of what I need in Beijing. Although there are still some missing materials but I could start making some simple ones.

I also made the sugar liquid for later use.

No matter what, I should get my own life back. Music, Wine, Cocktails and Books!!! I can't wait.

25 July 2006 Monday                                                                                                                                  current music: Keith Jarrett "Up for it"
I was in father's office, helping out some image editing works, witnessing the violence of a thunderstorm. The rain was so heavy that ruined the traffic badly. A half hour drive could take 2 hours to finish.

Located at the corner of a 5-star hotel in the center of the city, dad's office is always one of my favorite places in town. It's comfortable, well-maintained and undisturbed.

Despite the thunder and the lightning, I made myself a cup of tea, sitting at the patio outside the office, listening Keith's "Up for it", a live trio concert recorded in Juan-les-Pins, France, July 2002. It was a day with heavy rain as well. They were hesitated to play since the double bass player Gary Peacock was weak and recovering from his operation. Concert was almost canceled, but they finally decided to play, as keith said "If we could play. We should play. We needed the therapy. We needed the music."

For the result, Keith wrote it down in the ablum cover:
"... but something wonderful was happening in the music despite all these things. Within seconds, we were 'in the zone'. I looked up at Gary and Jack, who were both smiling broadly. They couldn't help it: the sun is always there, behind the clouds ..."

Gladly I had my camera with me. Gladly I still could find out my passion to click the shutter. It's so peaceful.
What's more important, I could see the sun behind the cloud.

It was a raining day as well when she first came visiting dad's office two summers ago. We took sub and postponed her return ticket.
She was in a red jacket with jeans and I was in black.

The rain reminds me of her and my life in Vancouver.

22 July 2006 Saturday                                                                                     anything you can do, I can do better. anyone you can be, I can be greater!
Speech went very well. I may have 2nd one later on to talk more about some specific photography techniques.

I did a better job than I expected.

BUT

To be frank, I am emotionally breaking down! You have no idea how terrible my feeling is!

I am too tired to sleep.

she asked me what brought me there.

I didn't know how to answer.

asking myself the answer is easy to find out.

I told her it's too empty to be alone at home.

she underestood.

she told me that "you should go home early. you don't belong to here."

I laughed.

I told myself it's finished.

It's over.

Happy Birthday to Trista.

Happy Birthday to Muffin.

Happy Birthday to Basil.

Happy July 20th.

Few days agao, I went up to the top level of Beijing International Hotel. The following picture was what I took there with my sd500. It shows 5% of current Beijing city. Yup 5%!!!. City is way too big now.

Click here to see the enlarged image.

Friends in vancouver asked me to upload some photos of where I live. Check out the private entry for images.

This is the building I am living in.

My old friend from beijing, Yuki, now living in Montreal sent me this photo. It's her baby. Can't believe it.

They are cute and sweet!!!!!!

I got an email from a girl who has the same name Yinan Wang as mine. She was born in China and went to NYC since 14 years old and found me out in google by searching her chinese name. What's more, her birthday is April 30th, same year as mine.

Like what she said in her email "This is weird but i feel like you are a long lost brother that i just found".

I wish I could meet her up one day. Should be fun!

I went to Grand Epoch City, a 5 stars hotel located in XiangHe 60KM south of Beijing, with my parents on the weekend. Meeting up some of his clients and old friends also to have a family time together. First time there, found out that the standardless services couldn't match with the luxury decoration. People who work in the hotel definitely need more training and have more education.

Chinese alcohol, I drank alot!!! I got drunk and strengthless for whole night, throwing up in the toilet. Well, this is the way most Chinese people (especially in north part of China) deal the business. You want the deal? You have to drink!!!

Doing business in China is totally new to me and I am pushing myself into this unfamiliar zone. Like it or not doesn't really matter. It's just how long it takes to get used of it.

Where are you? Where were you at the moment I need you???

Damn, I forgot I am single now.

I didn't update my blog for a while.

Last week, Carolyn, Arthur, Michelle came visiting me in Beijing. I tried my best to be a good host, showing them around. Beijing is such a big city and 2 years from my last visiting, everything changed. We went to a lot of interesting places and had some really nice meals together. Every day was fun and I am happy to have someone aside.

Arthur and I in Forbidden City.

with Carolyn and Michelle

Hours ago, I drove Carolyn and Arthur to the airport. They are heading back to Taiwan. Sigh, I miss them. More photos will be up.

Two days ago, I had my first photo assignment in Beijing. I was invited to photogrpahy a birthday party for one of the hottest Chinese young athlete Liu Xiang, who set the men's 110 metres hurdles world record on Tursday night at the Super Grand Prix meeting in Lausanne.
I need to dress up and co-op with different hotel departments for this event.

All photos that I took were copyrighted and none of them could be used on my blog. Pity!!! Anyway, it's really fun to work in different cities and different situations. I also met another professional photographer who was working together with me. More friends!!! Yup I need it.

I still have ...... Private entry. Email max@april28th.com for password.

Carolyn, Mr.A came visiting me from Taiwan. We have this CS416 reunion in Beijing!
I am very happy to have good friends here. They brought me hope and happiness. What's more, I need friends like them at this stage.

We went to Temple of Heaven, a place for Ming and Qing Dynasties' emperors to worship Heaven and pray for good harvests.

As usual I took some random photos. Check it out here.

I forgot to say Happy Birthday to Liz and Michelle!!!! My bad!!! But I really wish they could have a wonderful year!

I am 27. I am not old at all. Although I couldn't live totally on my own but I am working really hard. In short time, I could be completely independent. I appreciate everything that my parents have done for me and I cherish this love to the most. There are a lot of things that I couldn't do them well. But I could learn and I learn fast.

Lately, after getting better from the illness, I've been running back and forth to meet my father's business friends. My schedule has been tightly booked up from lunch to dinner from morning tea to drinks around 11pm. I met a lot of new friends. They are older than me and they are cool and knowledgeable.

One big news today was that after meeting with the manager of Beijing People Photography Club, I was invited to have a guest speech in its 8th Anniversary Ceremony. There will be over 300 photographers attend this celebration and the duration for my speaking will be one hour. Topic is about digital photography and my personal photo experience in Canada. I am pretty exciting about this opportunity. Next week, I will be busy to prepare the slide show. I believe I could make more friends afterward. YEAH!!! July 22nd!!!

I aslo met the photo editor of Beijing Youth and the chief photographer from China Daily. I am expecting some results. FREELANCE!!!!

Some other things that I've done in the past week:
  • sorting out all my business ideas, big and small.
  • washing Muffin twice in a single day.
  • celebrating muffin's first poo on her 7th landing day.
  • finalize Ubyssey news paper's website.
  • working on Liz's photos.
  • watching world cup games.
  • bombarding Trista by email or text msg and being heart breaking again.
  • realize that I could do a lot of things in China and I am confident about my future. Money + Career + Photography!

Found out this photo today. It shows the prize winning photo from the Canon photo contest and muffin is the 1st prize. :)

This is not 100% what I felt but pretty much the same and it's funny!

Well, I am here in Beijing, China, my hometown since I was born. But the city is no longer the same city I could recall. Too many changes during these 7 years. I need time to catch up the life style here. Beside the super hot weather, Muffin is here with me. She had a really tough trip from Vancouver all the way here. She made it anyway and I will take good care of her.

I will update my blog more often once I settle down here. Up till then, bear the lack of information with me.
