If you are ready to leave father and mother, and brother and sister, and wife and child and friends,
and never see them again - if you have paid your debts, and made your will, and settled all your affairs,
and are a free man - then you are ready for a walk. No wealth can buy the requisite leisure, freedom,
and independence which are the capital in this profession. It comes only by the grace of God. It requires a
direct dispensation from Heaven to become a walker.

Merry Xmas.

I am home. For what's happened in ChengDu was hard to explain in words.
My first time ever to witness a non-stop 10 days dance contest.
It's insanely crazy yet exaggeratedly pretty and for what's more important, inspiring!

My life in Chengdu was simple.
I woke up late in the morning, taking photos for the stage show in the afternoon and watching them dance in the evening time.
A decision was made that I only took photos during practicing time. When the contest started, I sat down and watched it with 100% attention.
The contest usually ended around 10+pm. I then carried my d-lux3, waking on the street, snap-shot scenes that amazed me.
Funny thing was that I ate in this hotpot place 5 times within 4 days. Still not enough!

Oh, I dropped my leica camera. Feeling bad :(

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa, this is so me! Love it.

I am leaving Beijing again in 2 days, heading to ChengDu city this time, covering the 7th national dance contest.
I heard that over 2000 professional dancers / groups are there to compete with each other. How exciting it will be.

After 3 nights of insomnia, I am home from HongKong.
Every night,I kept thinking about my work, life in beijing. I tried hard to think but at the end, nothing was figured out.
I know there is a turning point somewhere close to me. I just need to fetch it.
Time in HongKong was short, I carried cameras walking on different streets. Major works were done by my new leica camera and I love its result.
What's more, the EOS took too much attention on the street but Leica could do the work easily.
The following image was taken by leica at iso 200, F2.8 under 16x9 format at evening time.

A new movie "I am legend" will be on show on 13th Dec in HongKong. Trailer looks cool.

Hope I could watch it in Beijing in near future.

9th December 2007 Sunday                                                            current music: Faith Yong "Departure"
Happy Birthday Mom (well, it was Dec 7th) anyway. I love you!

There is a new family member, a high-end Yamaha Clavinova electronic piano.
Money goes for pretty and sexiness, always worth!
I started to practice piano at least 1.5 hrs per day and hopefully I could reach some level in short time.
Can't deny it, music is just way too powerful! It's like a container that you could fit yourself in no matter what.
Happy or not, one can always find the perfect piece of music to echo one's soul.

I am going to HongKong this afternoon for 4 days. Keep in touch!

5th December 2007 Wednesday                                                            current music: Rach-Maninov "Piano Concerto No.2"
Bookworm, a nice coffee shop in beijing. I keep going there for 2 days already.

I went to China Art Gallery in the noon time, watched a photography exhibition called "a day in Africa life". Not that impressed.
However, I do love the feeling of watching art works in a big, quiet gallery.
So wonderful!

4th December 2007 Tuesday                                                            current music: Rach-Maninov "Piano Sonata"

Do you dare stay out? Do you dare go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?
And if you gain, should you turn left or right? Or right at three-quarters? Or maybe not quite?
You can get so confused that you'll start in to race down long wiggled road at a break-necking pace.
And grind on for miles across weirdish wild space headed I fear towards a most useless place, the waiting place.
For people just waiting. Waiting for a train to go, or a bus to come, or the phone to ring,
or the snow to snow, or waiting around for yes or no, or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants,
or a wig with curls, or another chance.
