Beijing has been changed alot, way more than i thought. the places i used to be farmiliared with are not there anymore. buildings are high. Roads are wild now. but i was kind of lost. it seems like i am in a differernt city. not the one i know for 20 years. i called my friends, they all sound as same as before and being glad to know that i am back. QianLei told me that the city needs to be changed, that's the way it is, plus there is the olympic game in 2008. anyway, i didn't have chances to take pics of the buildings, roads, people etc... i will get back to it later on.

i went for dinner with my father at a 5 stars hotel, called Beijing International Hotel. the restaurant is located on the highest level of the building, and it's the kind of type that could turn around and let you see the 360 degree view. the boss there is my father's friend. he treated us in a nice way and the food arranged was good and tasty.

this is part of the night view i could see from the window, the street there is Chang An Jie, the biggest one in Beijing. and it was around 11pm, you could still see the huge amount of cars on the road.

after dinner, father drove us in his BMW around the city. i was amzed by how much changings Beijing has had for the past 4 years. and i indeed feel the speed of the devolopment in China. but i still kind of worry, worry about the culture, the spirit we loss with the birth of each new building.
father also showed us the new place we bought in Beijing and he just finished decorating the washroom, this is the pic i took there. good, uh? life here is getting better and better!

they were my best friends in highschool. they are my best friends now as well. we were all in the soccer ball team, called the "fire bird", in highschool. and once fire bird was in the top 5 amont all highschool teams in Beijing. but that's the history.

so....after 4 years, i met them this afternoon, having lunch together and went to a bar to keep chating, talking about the life we have had during these 4 years.
 |
some of them have had hard times. some of them seems doing more than good. once again, we all sit down in the same table. i found out that we grow up. the topic now is no longer belong to those sport news, but life, job and dreams.
after meeting my friends, i went to have this family dinner with Mr/Mrs Li's family. those two are my father's good friends. we went to a nice chinese restaurant. the dishes are in the style of North East China's.

he owns a printing factory. by his hard working, he makes this factory from nothing to possess around 40 -> 50 million dollars in 7 years.
i talked with him for a while and asked lot of questions that i was interested. i do appreciate his words.

later tonight, i went to meet my best friends Wang FaYang and CaoYuan. it's so nice to see them again. we went to eat hot pot and then go sing KARAOK. surprisingly, they didn't change too much, still funny and interesting. Cao Yao (on the right hand side) is getting fatter than before but indeed a grow up man. :P Wang FaYang is cute and funny as before. Friendship.....friendship never DIE.

Inside the book store, you can not find any fancy decoration or a nice coffee like what Chapter has. However, you can for sure find out what you need here, if you have samiliar taste with me on picking books.What's more you can enjoy the music here while you are reading. From my high school years, I came here more than once a week, picking up books from the shelf( exactly like the photo).

And then, I will carry those books sitting on the stair, reading for whole afternoon. Since I didn't have too much money to spend on books at my highschool year, the best way for me to read books was sitting inside the book store, reading as much as I can or even using pen to take some notes.

I still remembered that, there was a serial of books about one of my favorite author. Books were sold around 80 bucks at that time and I didn't have enough money to buy it, so I read 100 pages per day and keep reading for almost a week to finish the whole set.

At that time,I was just like one of the readers in the picture.
today, I found out the book which I was looking for, a book by Mr.Mo Yan, my favorite Chinese writer.

The reason for me to have this dinner was getting a lesson from a successful man, Mr.Lin. During the dinner, he talked with me alot, telling me some of his experiences. By the end of the dinner, I found out the most special point on him. Even when he has such lot of top level restaurants in Beijing and over China mainland, he still keep a low-fi life style. It's really easier said than done.
So, I asked him to write me these words on his name card:"Keep low-fi and catch the opportunity"
