Tomorrow, I will be on my way home.
The most important part is that I could finally see her.
Without inch of distance, I will be the happiest guy in the world.

Every year, in April time, there will be the Sun Run. There will be at least 50 thousand people running.
From 2006, I've been shooting this race for 3 years and it's more or less in my must-done list in Vancouver.

Unlike previous years, I get into the post processing phase this time and worked almost 12 hours straight to process over 50,000 images.
The interesting thing is that when you work on project in this level of scale, efficiency plays the critical factor.
We use photoshop to creat action that resize, level and watermark individual photo and the batch process them together.
The speed of computing is way slower than I expect.
For example, I gave 90% of my 2GB ram to photoshop and the batch process takes 1 mins to modify 35 to 40 images.
Each hour, we could have over 3000 images done and we are running 3 computers together. It still takes a long time.

However, I do have fun to work with Robert and others. I learned a lot of new things.
More important, the professional workflow.

So, another Sun Run tomorrow.
I told Laura that to shoot Sun Run is not for money but making me feel connected to this city.
Shooting Sun Run is the hardest job for me actually, I need to shoot over 8000 photos in 4 hours non-stop.
It's like 40 images per min and keep doing it for 4 straight hours, sitting in the same spot.
Weather says that, tomorrow will be 5 degree outside. FUCK!
Then from afternoon, there will be at least 8 hours of post editing work.
Anyway, this is what I love.

How long can you wait for love?

I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted
excitment and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my
love. I felt in myself a superabundance of energy and passion which found
no outlet in our quiet life.
I wanted to love, wanted to get swept away.
I wanted to levitate, to sing with rapture and dance like a dervish.
With joyful tear, I just miss you, so much!
And I love you, heart and soul!
This is the most emotional trip ever in my life and
it is also the most complicated experience ever happened to me but sweet and romantic.
People used to say that what's happened in Vegas stays in Vegas. Yet to me, what's happened in Vegas, stays inside my heart.
What's more, I don't want to see this as an happy ending however the first light of the sunrise.
Year 2004, January 22nd, I started my photo blog to record my personal life on a web based form and I called it "April28th",
not to broadcast details of my private life but to express myself in the most comfortable way I felt.
Year 2008, April 13th, I spent a whole day, tried my best to organzied photos/feelings from the past 4 days and finalized on April28th.
...... I failed.
4 years, I thought photo speaks for the photographer but now I realize that photo speaks for one only if there are stories behind.
And this is the story of us.
So many people live within unhappy cirumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation,
because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind,
but in reality the very basic core of one's living spirit is passion.
The joy of life must comes from our encourters.
The happiness, romance, love, are simply waiting out there for us to grasp them and all we have to do is reach for them.
And I believe the only person we are fighting is ourselves and our stubbornness and hesitation to engage in new circumstances.
Sometime, it pays to be prudent.
Sometime, you just have to trust your heart instead of your head.
For each day to have a new and different sun.
But for each day, I shall remain yours, love.
