5 oclock in the morning, I finished my work for the new issue of Mag28th. I am tired but exciting. Satisfication is the only word to describe my current feeling. Although the magazine is a small production, 15 pages without ad and forum, I love it. I wanted movement and a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my love. I felt in myself a superabundance of energy which found no outlet in our quiet life. Leo Tolstoy "Family Happiness" |

Picking up a money draft from one of my investment bank and I tried to deposit into RBC account. I was told they need to hold the draft for 5 business days to verify it. Hold it for 5 days? Then why I need a draft? Years ago, money draft = certified cheque = verified amount of money = use it right away = trust. Years later, the bank need to verify everything because of the non-stoppable fraud. Then I wait 1.5 hrs = 90 mins = 5400 sec to verify my honesty.
Snow in March's Vancouver, hard to believe yet it is real. The world is changing at the speed as fast as the sudden snow. We lost human trust faster than we build up another tallest buliding in the world. Computers could have two Quad-Core CPUs. However we as human lost the only heart we have for each other. I attended Ubyssey all candidates forum. New editors are funny and talented.
Evening time, I met James, ET, Onion and Carolyn.
We played PS3's game + drinking home made bubble tea and delicious Macdonald's new Cinnamon Melts.

I can't believe it's 26th March already. 15 days after my landing time flew way too fast. I've been busy on my company things for the past few days, making contact with lawyer/accountants. Vancouver is getting warmer and warmer and cherry starts blooming. I spent a wonderful morning today with Bryan. Meeting friends in Vancouver made me feel like going back to my own home. I was inspired, moved and enchanted with the lovely, deeply bounding friendship. Thank you all for being here for me! Now, it's in the middle of the night, I can't fall in asleep. Life is blank without poetry and music. A poet once said that: What you love, you are. I believe so. |

| Staying only a short week, Eric and Nikki was going to drove back L.A. Morning time, gangs gathered at Sam's place again for a farewell lunch.
It takes 9 months for me to meet Eric since previous encounter in Tokyo. I have no idea when I could meet him again but I wish it would be soon!
Friends like them could always cheer me up no matter how hard the situation is. It's like a shelter where I find protection. A harbor where I could take a break when I am tired. Even Sam's dog could make me laugh.
A bit sad. I wish, next time, I could bring my girlfriend/wife to meet them. So there will be three couples instead of two and a half. I miss her. Why on earth am I always living by myself? Why can't I live with the girl I love? Hell knows. |

| I got up pretty early today, taking sky-train to downtown to meet uncle Yu and his family. We went to White Rock for a short day trip. On the way, I saw this couple with their kid. I think one day, I will become a happy father like him as well.
Lunch was wonderful and I ate too much food. The family dog, Echo, is the fattest one I've ever seen. But she is cute. Oh, I ate king crab. KING CRAB!!!!! Just can't get enough of it.
Late night, I met Sam, MuXin, Nikki and Eric. We had beer at Steamwork near Water Front. It was a good time hanging around with them in the bar. Midnight, they drove me back home and I showed them my recent photos. They were amazed. :)
When Eric and I both took courses in UBC, he was always single. It took me a while to get used of him being with a girl. More I knew about Nikki, more I felt she is a nice girl and it's good for Eric to have her around. |

I went to Chapters this afternoon, spending 3 hours reading and bought varies poetry books. It's easy to find English fiction in Beijing, but it's hard to find poetry books there. Plus I am keen to read poetries. They are just too powerful.
Champagne and I went to Earls for dinner and watched hockey game together. We had a nice chat about life and work. During the meal, she asked me a question which made me think a lot. She asked what do I miss most from China when I am here in Vancouver. Well, I said at that time, basically nothing but few people and a cat. Driving Champagne home, I went to a local pub near Kitsilano beach and there I finally met Sam. It's so cheerful! I don't know what exactly happened in Tibet. I have no idea who gonna win in the Taiwan election. I do know that I love her and Vancouver is a home to me...... |

Early morning, I met up Eric and Nikki to have HK style morning tea together. When I arrived Blenz on Robson and Bute, they were working on their term paper. Scenes recalled my student life back in UBC. I miss it.
Afternoon, I went to Leo's camera, put down a huge purchasing list. It costs almost 20k Canadian, including a: 1DS MarkIII TS-E 24mm F3.5 L 300mm F2.8 IS L 16-35mm F2.8 L 35mm F1.4 L 85mm F1.2L Pocketwizards, 2 x ExtremeIII 8G CF cards, Calibrator, sensor cleaning kits etc. I am confused ............... not an ounce of excitements but guity and sick feeling. however, I do need them to make my living.
Joannes invited me to his home. I had a nice family dinner together with his parents. Everyday in Beijing, I was busy to work, always busy and most of the time, I ate alone or with someone in restaurant. I just realized that I've been missing a family life for really long time. Joannes is more like an old brother taking care of me in every aspect of my life. I am a lucky guy. |

| Eric and his girlfriend Nikki came visit me from LA. It's been a while since the last meeting with him last year in Tokyo. He moved from Taiwan to LA to pursuit his master degree in USC. The reunion was taken place in our favorite Japanese tapas. I was so relax to talk with them.
Later after the dinner, we went to the cheesecake shop on Granville street. The owner there was still playing the Jazz piano. Everything was so good and right.
I heart Vancouver. |

| It was raining, sun shower. so Vancouver! I think I need a wife to share my life. I am gonna get married!!!!!! I must! It's just so wrong to live alone. And there will be a baby girl, pretty one, and a cute little boy. Dog? YES!! And a lovely home with lots of sunshine! And a yacht!
Evening time, I went to a pub to watch Canuck's game while eating sandwich, chicken wings and Pepsi. Of course, Vancouver won agin. HOCKEY!!!!!!!!
Eric will come visit me from LA with his girlfriend tomorrow, haaaa, so exciting. Shall the party begin? |

Burnaby was raining while sunshine in downtown. I went to Granville island with Michelle and met Jesse and her boyfriend by chance. What a small world. :) Michelle was taking photos of ingredient in public market. She also bought me a set of color wheel which will be very useful for my future design.
Walking in the marketk was always pleasant, especially with a cup of hot JJ Bean's coffee.
Late afternoon, I met up Joannes, watching Hockey game together in a local pub. Vancouver won 4:3 over Dallas. GOOD GAME!
Dinner with Mr.Yu and his family. We had a nice HongKong style hotpot. Tomorrow, I am going to do some testing shoot with Canon 300mm F2.8 lens. Tired though, hopefully I could finish things soon and get some good rest. |

| I finally could have a regular life in Vancouver. At least, I have time, each day, to update my blog and listening the music I love. And I read before sleep. Those things were really hard to be done in Beijing. No idea why. Today, I rend a Toyota Yaris hatchback. It's tiny but cute.
I went to Yaletown with Joannes, talking about my big photographic purchasing plan.
Dinner was in a Japanese noodle house. Sadly the noodle doesn't taste as good as before.
Late night, I met Michelle at Blenze coffee. I was enchanted with the talk. |

To extend a Canadian passport needs 3 weeks. Damn slow. They send it to Ottawa then sent it back to YVR. :(
I shopped in Chapters and HMV and bought 80% of what I put on my wishing list. C.P.Cavafy: The collected Poems. Rainer Maria Rilke: Duino Elegies. Lord Byron: The selected Poems. Boris Pasternak: Doctor Zhivago. Duane Michals: The Advantures of Constantine Cavafy. And for music: Ashkenazy plays Rachmaninov Piano Concertos 2 & 3. Brad Mehldau: Songs. Brad Mehldau: THe art of the trio. Rachel's: Systems/Layers. Keith Jarrett: My Foolish Heart. Keith Jarrett: The melody at night with you. Herbie Hancock: River.
And the hot dog is good!!!!!! Life in Beijing is like driving on the highway. All you need is speed up and go straight forward, faster and faster. Vancouver now is more like a gas-station or resting area where I could get my mind back and fill up what I need. Physically and spiritually. |

Yes, Vancouver, I am home, though I woke up at 2pm. GTI is HOT.
Clouds, mountains, air, trees, streets, strangely familiar.
I met brother Joannes today. We had a nice talk in a coffee at a corner in downtown. It's so nice that I do not need to rush for anything, at least for a while. Now, chatting with a Jazz piano music, I am updating my blog. Spirit is high and life is just wonderful! |

last night evening time, we drove on the east 2nd ring road. It's been almost 2 years since I came back and Beijing now becomes my new home little by little. A year ago, I would think Vancouver as my home but now, things changed, feeling changed and friends changed. It's pretty sad to live in two differernt parts of world. One could hardly pick up the consistency and result in inefficient production for repeating or resuming one's life style again and again. So now, 2 days before my departure. I feel nervous. Where the is my home? And 2pm, I just got a call, schedule has been canceled. Heart is drowning. I hate this kind of things. Missing one chance, I would wait for days to see her again. |

I took the following photo few days ago and now use it as my desktop image.
10pm, still in the office, tired though. There are too many things to do before my departure date. Did I tell you that I actually like working in the office late in the evening. So quiet and there is only Max, no one else could bother me. It's the only time that I could be myself 100%, writing my own blog in the way I like. So..... I want a family. My own family with someone I love deeply and who loves me in return. Someone I want to take care of for the rest of my life. Someone I treat as my princess. Someone who could take care of me. I seriously want a family. Nothing is greater than love. |
