3 years after 2007, I am working for 2010 CCTV Spring Festival Evening Gala once again. There are so many familiar faces, friends. 14 days of final production, I am sure I'm going to have fun with them. :) Opera January 23th, 2009 | 15:41
Yes, it seems life just started. I went to my studio, setup lights, probs, photographying the Opera amplifier. Mr.Kong went to the studio and we had a nice chat about cameras. He is a big fan of Nikon and we were testing images from two different system, Nikon and Canon, under same lighting condition. The result? They are equally weak and equally strong. ANYWAY...... The production for the TV promo of CCTV's 14th Young Singer Competition was canelled. And it left me a great level of emptiness. Most of the time, we are dealing things with people, different kinds of people. We argue, we fight, we laugh, we cry. Today should be the day that I would remember for the rest of my life. I thought, we do things for passion, and this, should be straight forward. Yet in reality, everything comes from self-protection. I should do more of photography, just clicking the shutter. Audition for CCTV's promo ran in my studio. I setup the newly arrived profoto lighting equipments. Video was taken through a 5D MarkII with three 1000-ws strboes's modeling lights. Final result was good. I compared profoto lights with local brand strobes. The result only convinced me one more time that quality comes with price.

I've been working on a new project for a week already. CCTV hired me to film a one minute TV promo for its "14th China Young Singer Competition". Being a producer and co-director, once again I am working together with Mr.Piao, my favorite cinematographer. The production will be taken place in Beijing from Jan 20th-22nd. Final edited video will be broadcasting from Feb. to April on CCTV Channel 3. This time, we will shooting film, instead of the digital HD. Exciting! Hong Kong January 5th, 2009 | 07:00
